About EXOvault

Exovault is a artist-run company; we provide the kind of low volume, high-quality product that can appeal to a small and specific part of the population- like you.  We are irritated by so many high volume,  massed-produced products that must lose their individuality and integrity in order to appeal to an increasingly wide and thus inherently bland demographic. EXOvault cases are made in our studios in Brooklyn, NY- from design, to proto-type to the final hand-finished product, we take steps to stand apart from the rest in our level of craftsmanship, our choice of quality materials and our dedication and attention to detail. Our design is not intended to appeal to all it is interned to appeal to a the few with a higher standard. Our goal is to remain small and individual. We stand behind our cases, and want you to enjoy them as much as we do! A lot of people have iPhones- only a few have the protection of an EXOvault case.

Do you have a clear or invisible screen protector?
We have designed the exo5 case for the iPhone 4 to exact specifications, this means that if you have a full sleeve or front screen protector the hinged exo5 case may not close as we intend it to. We feel that a screen protector isn’t necessary, but if you choose to continue to use one with the EXOvault case, you should choose the screw shut version of the exo5. This will allow you to adjust the tightness of the case to accommodate the screen protector. That said, there are many types of clear screen or phone protectors and we cannot guarantee that it will fit your phone exactly. Numerous customers do not have any problem, but there have been some that have with the hinged exo5 case.

About Reception
We test out our iPhones in all of our cases but in some areas reduced reception or spotty reception is more apparent with the brass case. If you feel like you live in an area or use your phone throughout areas with spotty reception we suggest you purchase an aluminum case. All colors and styles of aluminum prove to have consistently better reception than out brass versions. We made the brass because we love its beauty and we don’t have any problems, but we can’t be in many areas of the world to test the reception of the brass case. Our brass cases have been our biggest sellers and most customers are happy and continue to buy a second (or third) brass case, but if you are worried about this we suggest the aluminum. If you do want to try the brass, I’m sure you will LOVE it, but if it isn’t the case for you, you are welcome to exchange it or return it with in a week or so of receiving it.

EXOvault Aluminum iPhone  Cases
The aluminum case is both lightweight, durable and is our best selling case. It has an elegant tech look and fits the iPhone 3G or 3GS like a glove.  Your phone will not rattle around or move within the case. The case will not scratch your phone. The inside is milled smooth to the touch. Our cases are made from two pieces of solid aluminum stock, which we carefully mill and finish by hand. They are then anodized- a process that renders the aluminum harder, stronger and scratch resistant.  We offer a clear anodize which showcases the look of the raw aluminum, while still providing a hard, scratch resistant finish or a deep black anodize that really highlights the iPhone’s touch screen. The case is a two-piece case that screws together with included machine screws. We provide extra screws and the correct allen wrench to outfit your phone.  The case is simple and quick to put on and take off. All openings and switches are readily accessible through the EXOvault case. We guarantee the fit of all Apple brand iPhone chargers and headphones (the white ones that came with your iPhone.) We cannot guarantee the fit of all third party accessories.

EXOvault Brass iPhone Cases
We think the brass is a beautiful material in its raw form, so we wanted to keep this rich patina and finish on our cases.  The brass case will wear and continue to patina slightly with use.  Its surface will be unique to you…daily wear and tear should only improve the look and feel of this case. We did not feel the need to over polish and strip this wonderful metal of its inherent natural beauty, and so small scratches and imperfections may be expected and should prove to add to its rustic charm.

FAQ

How tough is an EXOvault case?  The case is milled from solid billet stock providing a very strong unit.  Our case greatly enhances the durability of the phone but is not indestructible.

How do I care for a brass EXOvault case? If you should decide to clean or brighten up your brass case we suggest you try a fine grade Scotch Brite pad which you will find available at most hardware or large grocery stores. For best results, rub the case lightly from top to bottom in a straight-line motion. You will lift some of the patina by doing this that will again reappear with repeated use.

How do you protect the alumanum cases? The aluminum cases are anodized. This provides and extremely hard and durable surface that is part of the metal and will never flake off.

Does an EXOvault case reduce reception?   All cases are metal and may affect reception. That said, we have spent a lot of time refining the design to provide you with the best combination of metal construction and quality reception. The main antennas on the iPhone are located at the bottom rear of the phone. In the exo1 we have provided slots that allow the phone to send and receive information while still providing a high degree of protection. In the exo2, the rosewood inlay replaces the metal flutes over the antennas and offers improved reception, as well as having additional vents on the case front for improved GPS performance.
